    • Jane VanHook, the second daughter of Benjamin VanHook and Esther Gaston was born in Pulaski County, Ky., on 18 May 1828.

      She married William H. Price Sr. in Pulaski County on 7 October 1846. James Price was the surety on the marriage bond and Jane's father Benjamin was a witness to this marriage. William H. Price Sr. was born 24 April 1826. He was 20 years old at the time of their marriage and Jane was 18.

      Their first child (George A.C. Price) was born the next year and they had 7 children altogether, of which only 4 lived to adulthood.

      Their last child (Mary E. Price) was born on the first of March in 1862. Jane died 4 months later on 3 July 1862. This last daughter died about 3 weeks later.

      Jane and her 3 children that died in childhood are buried in the Starnes family cemetery on Welborn Road of Highway 39 in Pulaski County. This is also the cemetery where Jane's father and mother are buried as well as a number of her brothers and sisters. William H Price Jr. survived his first wife by almost 38 years and died on 26 April 1900. He married 2nd Sarah Colyer and had more children with her. Although there is a stone for William in the Starnes Cemetery, he is buried with his second wife Sarah in Woodstock Cemetery.
