      The funeral of Charles V. VanHook was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the chapel of M. Boord, the services being conducted by Rev. Pitman, of the Baptist church.

      Mr. VanHook was born in Covington October 2, 1875, the son of Burton VanHook and Samantha J Evans. His life was largely spent in Covington where he has many friends. He lived with and helped take care of his aged father for a number of years before his death. Interment was at Mount Hope cemetery, directed by M. Boord.

      He is survived by his father and three brothers, Thomas of St. Louis; James of Kirkwood, Mo., and William of this city.
