Married:
- Pulaski County, KY Marriages
5 Feb 1850 (some transcriptions show 5 Mar 1850)
Surety on bond was "James Riley Whitaker" (Dicey Whitaker's brother)
Permission reads: Consent of Mary Whitaker "to give under my hand to William Farmer, Dicey Whitaker" - kin not stated
William Farmer was known as "Quilly Molan" (or "Quillie Molan") Farmer. Perhaps the "Quillie" was a derivation of "Willie" and the "Molan" some derivation of his middle name.
Dicey Whitaker's middle name (according to family stories) was "Jane" - but she never appears with the name or initial in the record. In the 1870 census, her name is given as "Dicey A."
6-7 months after they were married, William and Dicey Farmer appear in the 1850 census with a daughter, Sarah, age 1. It appears the census taker recorded all children up until their 2nd birthday as "age 1". So Sarah may have been born in 1849, or as recently as August, 1850. Either Dicey already had a daughter when she was married, or she was pregnant at the time of her marriage.
