9 | ![]() | Samuel VanHook - petition for the formation of Harrodsburg, KY 28 Sep 1785 - Petitions of the Early Inhabitants of Kentucky (to the General Assembly of Virginia 1769 to 1792), Petition No. 26 – Samuel VanHook signed a petition of the inhabitants of Lincoln County requesting a town for the county. This was the request for the formation of the town of Harrodsburg. (This petition is also signed by Samuel Dennis, who owned land next to Samuel's original preemption, and Samuel Dennis Junior, among others.
